For men who have experienced baby loss, going back to work can bring a whole new set of challenges.
❓How do you explain what you’re going through?
❓What do you say when someone asks how you’re doing?
❓And what happens when everyone assumes you’re coping?
Today begins Baby Loss Awareness Week, and we’re so excited to be partnering with @tommys for a free webinar, Supporting Men Through Baby Loss 💛
Together, we’ll explore the challenges men face following baby loss, the impact on their working lives and, importantly, how employers can offer more meaningful support.

The impact of baby loss can shape every single par The impact of baby loss can shape every single part of someone’s life.
It can affect their concentration, confidence, relationships and ability to move through an ordinary working day. There’s no single timeline and no standard response that’ll be right for everyone, which can make it difficult for employers and colleagues to find the “right” words.
It’s a topic we’re passionate about highlighting throughout the year, but especially during Baby Loss Awareness Week happening next week, which takes place from 9 to 15 October.
We’ll continue this important conversation at The F Word at Work Live on 3 November, when Julianne Boutaleb, Consultant Perinatal Psychologist at Parenthood in Mind, joins us for her spotlight session:
🎤 *Underneath It All: The Psychological Reality of Fertility at Work*
Julianne will explore the emotional impact that can accompany fertility experiences, including loss, and help employers consider whether their current support meets people where they actually are.

Sometimes, those two words are doing a lot of heavy lifting.
For men navigating baby loss, returning to work can mean putting their grief to one side, trying to carry on as normal and answering questions about their weekend when they're struggling just to get through the day.
The quotes in these slides from our community members are a stark reminder of how isolating loss can be, particularly when so much of the conversation and support around baby loss focuses on the birthing parent.
For Baby Loss Awareness Week 2026, we're joining forces with @tommys to host a free webinar: Supporting Men Through Baby Loss 💛
We'll explore how baby loss affects working life, why men can struggle to access support and what employers, managers and colleagues can do differently.
We'll also be sharing a free downloadable dos and don'ts guide to help you put what you've learned into practice.

We’re delighted to welcome @planyourbaby as a spon We’re delighted to welcome @planyourbaby as a sponsor of this year’s F Word at Work Live Summit 🎉
Plan Your Baby was founded with a vision to provide the highest quality fertility care anywhere, creating comprehensive end-to-end assessment, treatment and monitoring services where clients feel supported and cared for throughout their journey.
Their approach recognises that fertility care goes beyond treatment itself, and that people need support throughout the different stages of their experience.
At Fertility Matters at Work, we know how much people can be juggling while navigating fertility treatment alongside their careers, which is why we’re so pleased to have Plan Your Baby supporting this year’s event.
A huge thank you to Plan Your Baby for being part of The F Word at Work Live. We’re so pleased to have you involved! 💛

This is a quote we heard recently that stuck with us. It echoes something we often hear from men navigating fertility treatment and loss alongside their partners: feeling they need to be strong for someone else while finding little space for their own emotions.
At FMAW, we’re passionate about highlighting that baby loss affects men and non-birthing partners too. Their grief can go unseen, especially at work, where carrying on as usual can hide how much someone is struggling.
For colleagues and managers, knowing what to say or do can feel difficult. That uncertainty can leave people without the support they need.
To mark Baby Loss Awareness Week 2026, FMAW and @tommys are joining forces for a free webinar: Supporting Men Through Baby Loss.
We’ll bring together lived experience and expert guidance to explore how baby loss affects working life, what good support looks like and the difference employers can make.
You’ll leave with a free downloadable dos and don’ts guide to help you put what you’ve learned into practice, with time for a live Q&A too.
